Review: Reflected in You by Sylvia Day

Rating: ★★★★★ stars
Date published: October 23rd, 2012
Publisher: Berkley
Synopsis: Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...
What I Thought:

The blurb for this book is poetic, but even in its beauty can not do the book justice.  Reflected in You is the second book in what was once the Crossfire Trilogy, but is now a pentalogy. Before I talk about how amazing this book was, allow me to let everyone know, I've been reading Sylvia Day since her debut.  That's right, I already knew she was hot stuff and had the writing chops well before she, thankfully, gave us Gideon Cross to swoon over.

Granted this book is a sequel, but it picks up right where the cliff hanger from book one left us.  I want to gush and talk about that but if you're one of the few people who haven't read Bared to You, I don't want to ruin it for you.  That book is a five star book too.

Anyhow, back to Gideon and Eva.  I don't know what it is, but both of them are so imperfect, that's what makes them work and tears them apart at the same time.  We find out more about Gideon's trauma and that was heart breaking. iI wanted to rail at his mom and the Universe.   Seeing Eva and Gideon deal with the way things were was heart breaking as well.  As I read, I wanted to rage at the fact they weren't happy and neither was I.  There was also upheaval and drama in Cary's life as well as in the lives of Eva's mother and father.

I read this book with a knuckle grip, from cover to cover, without stopping once.  I was so focused on Gideon and Eva I forgot to eat dinner!  Once again the book ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger and I was once again on tether hooks wondering what would happen in their lives next.  I've since read book 3, Entwined With You. Book 4, Captivated By You,  can't come soon enough for me and with all the teasers recently I keep hoping a release date will be announced soon!  I need more Gideon and Eva!
