Sun Damage by Nikki Rae - Blog Tour, Review, & Giveaway

I was so happy when Nikki Rae contacted me to see if I wanted to be apart of the Sun Damage blog tour!!! I am a huge fan of this series! I am so excited to see what Nikki is cooking up next!!! Thanks Nikki for inviting me to be apart of this awesome blog tour!!

Synopsis

Life wasn't what Sophie was expecting, so why should death be any different?
She’s come back from swimming between the two, and every problem she left is still there. And then some.
There’s the human world, where she has a brother on the verge of ruins, band mates all set to go on tour, and people she thought she wouldn't be seeing for a long time showing up.
Then there’s her new world, where she’s seeing and hearing things that should not be heard or seen. Where Myles knows more about her than she could have ever guessed. She still doesn't know exactly why Michael is tormenting her, but somehow, everything is connected.
The monsters are closing in on all sides and the question is, will Sophie be able to defeat them before it all ends?

My Review
★★★★

I have followed this series since book one. Sunshine was the beginning of the world of Sophie and Myles! I have enjoyed reading each book in this series. Nikki is an amazing writer.
Just when we thought things were getting better for Sophie, something else goes wrong. Sophie is having a hard time adjusting to the life of a vampire. Not only that, Michael is still trying to killer her.

I have always loved Sophie and Myles's relationship. In this book Nikki shows us that not all relationships are perfect. Sophie and Myles are going through a rocky relationship right now, but It pulls through.

I love the world that Nikki has built. These are vampires you have never seen before. They are powerful, but they are not dark. I love that they are different from other vampires. These are the type of vampires I would love to be friends with if they were real.

Okay, I just have to fan girl over Myles!!! He is one of those guys that every girl wants in there life. He is so caring, loyal, helpful, and the list goes on and on. Whenever something goes wrong for Sophie, he is always right there to help her out of it.

I am really happy the way this series ended. I will miss the world of Sophie and Myles, but I can always just re-read the books. If you have not read the first two books, I highly recommend you read those before you read this one. I am so excited to see what Nikki has next!!

A call to action for all readers and book lovers.

I'm not the most eloquent person.  I never quite know what to say that might help alleviate someone's grief or give them a respite from it. I always know my words are inadequate and I'm never quite sure what actions are appropriate either.  One thing I do know is the reading community, both authors and readers, is a kind and giving one.  This past week one member, Jackie Barbosa, an author, lost her teenage son in a car accident.  In an effort to show our support readers, authors, and bloggers are highlighting Jackie's books and writing reviews for them.   Information regarding her many titles can be found on her website: http://www.jackiebarbosa.com/books/ .

There's also been a memorial fund set up in her son's name.  The details of which can be found here. Any and all donation amounts are greatly appreciated and will be used to eventually fund a scholarship in his name. I'm also placing the link to Jackie's Facebook Page here if anyone would like to convey condolences personally or privately.  Please spread the word on facebook, twitter, instagram, word of mouth, any way you can.  Thank you in advance and I hope we somehow manage to help Jackie in this most awful and difficult time.

Review: Remember When by T.Torrest

Remember When by T.Torrest

Rating: ★★★★★ stars
Date published: January 1st, 2013
Synopsis:Years before Trip Wiley could be seen on movie screens all over the world, he could be seen sitting in the desk behind me in my high school English class.

This was back in 1990, and I cite the year only to avoid dumbfounding you when references to big hair or stretch pants are mentioned. Although, come to think of it, I am from New Jersey, which may serve as explanation enough. We were teenagers then, way back in a time before anyone could even dream he’d turn into the Hollywood commodity that he is today.

In case you live under a rock and don't know who Trip Wiley is, just know that these days, he’s the actor found at the top of every casting director’s wish list. He’s incredibly talented and insanely gorgeous, the combination of which has made him very rich, very famous and very desirable.

And not just to casting directors, either.

I can’t confirm any of the gossip from his early years out in Tinseltown, but based on what I knew of his life before he was famous, I can tell you that the idea of Girls-Throwing-Themselves-At-Trip is not a new concept.

I should know. I was one of them.

And my life hasn’t been the same since.

**Remember When is the first book in an NA romantic comedy trilogy, but there is NO CLIFFHANGER. It is intended for mature teen readers and immature adult ones due to some high school sex scenes, underage drinking, questionable language and 1980s flashbacks.**

Cover reveal and Giveaway: Rival

Before we get to the really good stuff we've all been waiting for, let me tell you how excited I am about this book and this series. I absolutely love Penelope Douglas's books. If there was a way I could hear her thoughts or hack her computer and it be legal, secret, and not so creepy, I would.  Instead I will somehow wait patiently for her next book to come out.  If you haven't read Bully you don't know what you're missing out on. Pick up the book and fall in love with the Fall Away Series, like I did.
