ONE WEEK is all it will take...

A week in Las Vegas and she will feel better about herself. At least that is what Dacotah Miller is hoping will be the case.

Left at the alter, heart broken and ashamed, Dacotah takes the opportunity offered by her girlfriends - the chance to get away. The opportunity to escape her mundane life in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin.

But what Dacotah doesn't know is that lurking in Las Vegas is the chance of a lifetime, a dream come true, in the form of Derek Hunter.

Derek, in town on business, can't seem to focus on his purpose once Dacotah walks into his field of vision. She beautiful and just what he needs to cure his desire for a good woman in his bed. Only she presents a challenge to him unlike anything he's ever experienced before.

Dacotah will be wrapped up in a whirlwind of unexpected events that will force her to make a decision, life changing choice. Does she get on the plane back to boring Wisconsin and wonder what might have been? Or will she step on board a private jet that promises to take her on a journey she will never forget?

 Review
★★★1/2 stars

One Week started off great for me.  I felt so bad for Dacotah and what she'd been through.  I admired her for handling things the way she did, especially when the knocking on her door started.  I was really rooting for her to get what she was looking for in Vegas.  A little of a quarter of the way into the book, my interest started to wane and I'll try to explain why without giving too much away.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Dacotah and Derek.  It was hot, they were hot.  I wasn't a huge fan of the way Dacotah was so insecure.  I can understand why she'd think so considering she wasn't in the same pay grade and didn't meet current standards of beauty, but she dwelled on it too much. SPOILER.  (Highlight to read it.) I also didn't like how Cotah went to Vegas with her girls, but only hung out with them once after hooking up with Derek.  I  was also surprised by at how hot and cold Dacotah was when it came to being with Derek and trying BDSM.  She'd be completely against it one second and then gung-ho about it in the next.  It almost gave me whiplash.  Plus BDSM isn't really my thing.  It was hot though.  END SPOILER.

This is my first Zoey Derrick book.  I'm really looking forward to reading more, especially Tristan and Cami's story, which is already out.  This book is really well written and even though certain elements didn't work for me, it won't be that way for everyone.  Do give this book a try.
