Synopsis: Would you die for the one you love?
Nixon Abandonato made his choice. And now he has to pay the price. Tracey is the love of his life, but being with him has made her a target of his family's enemies. The only way to keep Trace alive is convince the world she means nothing to him.

Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nix suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nix--and if he won't fight for them, she will.

In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner . . .

What I Thought:

The Eagle Elite do not have it easy at all!  I can't imagine being in my 20s and having all that responsibility on my head.  I mean the mafia is no joke!  Of course the men and some of the women are a little trigger happy so maybe that's when they show their age as well as their toughness.

This book.  I thought Elite was crazy good, but this book was better,  The betrayals were bigger, the secrets revealed were humongous and life altering (for the characters), the drama was off the charts and I loved it all!
Even the plot twists were huge.  I didn't see any of them coming...at ALL.  I think I can compare this book to a roller coaster ride. You're really excited to get one and then once it takes off you're high in sky and falling and rising.  You get my point.  I couldn't put this book down.

I was genuinely worried Trace and Nixon might not get their HEA.  It didn't even seem like they got to have a HFN before everything was up in the air again.  Over all, I think Rachel Van Dyken did a fantastic job with this book.  It's a great story and I highly recommend this series.
