What I Thought:

I'm stunned by this book. I haven't read the previous two, so I have no idea what happens in them and yet I was able to follow along for 97% of the book without being confused.  I'm slightly, okay really disappointed this book came out this past month.  That means what happens next probably isn't ready to be published.  That means I'm going to have to wait and waiting stinks.  Anyone who is waiting on a sequel will agree.

I'm really wondering where I've been and how I've missed reading this series before.  The book started off with Eve in pain and I wanted to comfort her, but also I wanted to know why and everything was revealed in a timely manner.  I was very quickly and easily able to relate to Eve.  I really liked her.  I understood how upset she was with having free will taken from her in all regards of her life, but being told she should be grateful for having free will.

I'm really looking forward to finding out the identity of the traitor in the war that's begun and how it's going to affect Eve and Asher.  I'm still undecided on Asher.  I don't know if everything he does is for Eve or to fill some need he has.  He is hot though and the barriers between him and Eve being together look difficult to overcome.  I'm also undecided about Gage.  I do know he's on probation, which means his motives aren't clear when it comes to Eve.  I'm eager to see how everything plays out.

Randi Cooley Wilson has really surprised me.  I was dragging my feet to read this and instead ended up devouring it.  The story is rich with lots of details and her world building is really good.  It's good enough not to confuse someone new to the series and world.  I can't wait to see how she thrills in book four.
