Synopsis: A gripping New Adult novel about a fugitive woman and a bounty hunter who fall in love as he's bringing her to justice.
Kat Percel is on the run. Faced with an impossible choice—go to jail for a crime she didn't commit or leave everything behind and start over—she becomes a fugitive, flitting from town to town with nothing but the clothes on her back. Until she meets a man who literally stops her in her tracks.
That man's a movie-star handsome bounty hunter, but behind his chiseled jaw and cool demeanor, he has his own secrets... and no matter how pretty and vulnerable his prey seems, he couldn’t care less whether Kat is actually guilty or innocent.
When she's taken into custody by her hunky captor, she's forced to travel back home to Texas with him. But Kat is not the cold, hardened fugitive he expected, and as they drive across the country together, neither of them can deny the spark between them. Kat is more than just a job, but what future can a bounty hunter have with a girl who’s running from the law?
What I Thought:
I went into this book slightly blind. All I knew was it was written by Season Vining and that was enough. The book starts off with Kat running away. I had no idea what she'd done, but her fear was palpable, as was her desperation to get away. I was scared for her and intrigued because I wanted to know what she'd done to necessitate going on the run.
I really liked Kat. I loved how she tried to guess her captor's name. I understood her fear as she tried to get away from those who would harm her. I loved her motivation for what she did and loathed those who'd hurt her. I was able to see the innocence in her, and that's what her captor saw too. The bounty hunter who captured Kat couldn't help but see past his job to who she was. I felt horrible for the bounty hunter too, as his past came to light. It's horrible when the ones who are supposed to love and protect you fail you. However I loved seeing Kat and her bounty hunter fall in love among all the ugliness of their realities.
There were so many twists in this book. Just when I thought I had a grip on what was happening, something new happened to twist the trajectory of the story and I was helpless in it's grasp. All I could do was read as fast as I could. Season Vining is great at writing action and mystery. You don't even realize you're holding you're breath. The story is as emotional as it is rife with strife.
This is my second book by Season Vining in two days. I thought this book was related in some way to her debut novel, Beautiful Addictions, but besides being well written and amazing, the two are independent of one another. Her novels are new adult, but they're full of suspense and intrigue that will leave you on the edge of your seat. This book is definitely one you're going to want to read! And in all honesty, my review in no way does this book justice. You've got to read it to find out for yourself!

About the Author
Hi. My name is Season Vining. I have written poetry as long as I can remember. There are hand-written odes to flowers, mermaids and New Kids on the Block tucked away somewhere in my mother’s house. Later, things grew darker. Lines of teenage angst, the cruelties of high school and woes of unrequited love fill random pages of school notebooks. With maturity came a longer attention span and a desire to pen short stories. Eventually, I was inspired to write my first manuscript by reading other stories. I found myself wishing for this storyline or that character and one day asked myself, “Why don’t you write it?”
So, here we are. Through blood and sweat and unparalleled support from friends and family, I’ve completed my first novel. Though the experience was sometimes grueling, it was also enlightening and therapeutic. Most importantly, it proved that I can accomplish anything. I look forward to proving that with future works.
In the simplest terms, I am a designer, an author, a philanthropist, a bookworm, a cook, inked, and a night owl.
