Review

★★★★ 1/2 stars

This is one impressive collection of stories.  Even better is the fact they're raising funds for charity and causes close to the author's hearts.  There's nothing like enjoying a great story, or six, and doing something to better your world and that of others around you, both near and far.  Before reading this anthology I'd read books by a hand full of authors in here, but I'd heard about all of them, and so I was excited to get a taste of those I hadn't.

Perhaps the story that touched me the most emotionally was Sawyer Bennett's Off Duty. The message this book conveys is beautiful and cam very simply be stated in #LoveisLove. It's so true and so simple, yet we often forget this message.  Regardless of how we look on the outside, we're (literally) all the same on the inside.  This story really showcased the power of love and forgiveness and it was blisteringly hot!  Brava Ms. Bennett, Brava!

Closet Confessions was amazing! I can say I've read my first m/m story courtesy of none other than best selling author Kindle Alexander.  She has legions of fans and never having read anything by her or featuring two males as lead characters, I wasn't sure what to expect.  I got a story that was interesting, gripping, and hot.  Really hot.  I understood the dilemmas the characters were facing and I connected with them.  It really became about two people who were attracted to each other yet dealing with other issues.  I don't know why I was surprised by the twist, but I was.  I guess I was too caught up in the story to see it coming.

I really enjoyed Brenda Rothert's Healing Touch. I loved how Carson and Joss connected in this book.  The story takes place in the duration of a night, but it really seemed like it was longer. I liked how the revealed their truths to one another.  The emotional connection between them was intense and I think that's what made the time they had together seem longer.

My first taste of Chelle Bliss's writing was scorching!  I felt so bad for Sam.  He's realized something he'd wanted his whole isn't going to happen and he couldn't stay there any more and see what he was missing so he comes to New Orleans and finds a new adventure.  I must admit there was a lot of chemistry between him an Fiona and I loved the way the story started in the present and then took me back to how they met.

Toni Aleo has a distinct writing style.  I've read and loved some of her Assassins books before, so I sort of knew what to expect.  It turns out this story is a prelude of sorts to another.  Now I have no problem with that, but I wasn't able to connect with the hero, well rather with his logic.  I didn't like Jordie very much. Will I read the continuation of his story when it's released?  Yes, because I'm expecting Toni to redeem in my eyes.  I won't be easy, but I have feeling it'll be sweet.

The final story in this collection is by Eden Butler.  I've read and LOVED her new adult novels and I was excited to see her try her hand at a new genre, romantic suspense.  Boy does she nail the suspense part.  Neil Ryan is looking for answers and isn't having any luck. Every door he opens either leads to a dead end or more questions, and he's not liking what he's finding.  I found myself really intrigued about his mother's murder and I loved how seeing someone important from his past helped him with his current dilemma.  I'm really eager to read the next part in this series and thankfully it's already out.

All in all, this anthology is a great collection of diverse stories set in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  New Orleans has it's own mystique and I loved reading about people living and loving there.  I'm really glad I was able to read and participate in this tour.  I'd strongly recommend you check out this anthology.

*Thank you to the authors for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for them in any manner.*
