Synopsis: New York Times, USA Today, and International bestselling series

No matter how hard I’ve tried to let go of Mister Black, the memories of us together torture me. They’re an unforgettable reminder of a life I can’t have for many reasons.

Burying myself in work mostly keeps thoughts of him to a screaming minimum, until he's thrust into my life under circumstances beyond my control. Despite my need for his protection, this time I’m not sure if I’m strong enough to survive with my heart intact.

He is Black: a fierce protector and irresistible charmer.

I am Red: a trouble magnet and rainbow weaver.

Together we ignite. Explosive colors merging at the hottest melting point.

NOTE: BLACKEST RED is meant for readers 18+ due to mature content. This is part 3 in the IN THE SHADOWS series and is approximately 369 print pages. The series must be read in the following order: MISTER BLACK (part 1), SCARLETT RED (part 2), andBLACKEST RED (part 3).

What I Thought:

It's hard for me to believe I read a 369 page book in 2 hours and 20 minutes, but I did.  There is something about the way this book is written that makes the pages and time fly by like it's nothing.  I absolutely enjoyed this last chapter in Talia and Sebastian's story.  It was everything I'd hoped for and more.

I love how P.T. Michelle played on the chemistry they had.  They were so hot together I could've sworn my kindle was smoking!  They danced around each other for the most of the book, and I was suitably on edge.  Sebastian might have had blue balls, but I was no less frustrated.  The two had the worst timing, plus with their respective pasts making appearances and would-be suitors coming out of the wood work for both of them, it was going to be tough before getting their emotional and mental states involved.

I really liked how Talia stuck to her guns in this book.  Even though everything in her called to Sebastian, she was leery of having her heart broken again.  I also liked how Sebastian was patient up to a point with Talia.  He may have wanted her with everything in his being, but he wanted her to want him as much. However, the wait was so worth it!  I thought I was going spontaneously combust!

The mystery and suspense in this book was once again done perfectly.  I had no clue at any time who was gunning for Talia.  Of course I was on edge because things seemed to be developing rapidly.  Let me tell you the surprises keep coming.  I have no idea how Sebastian didn't decimate everything when he found out why his mother died and at whose behest.  He's a much better person than I could ever be.  I wanted to rage and rip the villain's heart out of their chest.

I'm hoping P.T. Michelle will continue in this world and tell stories of some of the other characters we've met.  I'd love to know about Sebastian's cousin Calder, Den, and Mina, Sebastian's sister.  That way I'll get to see how Talia and Sebastian are doing now that hopefully all these attempts on Talia's life are finished.
