What I Thought:

This anthology really impressed me.  There is a range of stories from sweet to hot, emotional to happy-go-lucky.  Not every story has a character with cancer, but there are a few that do.  I can tell you right now if you're an emotional reader like me, then you'll need those tissues.  There will be happy tears and sad tears and some in-between.  I can also tell you as someone who doesn't watch hockey unless it's the Olympics or the Stanley World Cup, there weren't too many books with hockey lingo that confused me.  One story even included a hockey glossary which was a great help!

I'd initially taken notes on each story as I read.  However, I kept getting caught up in the stories and forgetting to write down what stuck with me.  I'd like to share notes on three that stood out the most for me.  I must admit I've never really read M/M romances. Most of what I've read has been part of a menage or an erotic romance.  However there is a story in this anthology that I really enjoyed.  It's written by V.L. Locey and it made me wonder how many professional athletes are really hiding their sexual orientations and what it must feel like for those who are out compared to those who haven't yet.  Another story I was impressed with was "Hooking Hannah" by Cassandra Carr and Cindy Carr.  This has got to be the first sports romance I've read in which the athlete wasn't a "promiscuous player" and it was very refreshing.  "Taking a Shot" by Catherine Gayle brought out the tissues for me.  Oh wow, this was a story that covered a whole range of emotions and I loved it.  I also hope to see more Jamie and Katie in the future.

One thing I loved was how this anthology had material with names I both recognized and new faces to look out for as well as whole new list of books that will make my heart happy but hurt my bank balance.  I'd like to thank the authors for writing such great stories and for such a great cause.  I'd also like to thank them and the tour organizers in taking part in both the blitz and review tour.
