Synopsis

246.

That's the number of women I've shagged in the last twelve months.

I'm Ryder Stevens.

Don't pretend you don't know me. I'm a god.

I'm hot, I'm British and I take what I want. I'm also the number one ranked tennis player in the world. But it's my off court antics that gain the most attention. I cruise through life, running from one scandal to the next. Hell I can't even take a piss without the world knowing about it.

Rules? Who gives a shit?

Rules are there to be broken and I'm the king of breaking them.

But even the king can be bought to his knees. I'm sidelined with an injury that changes everything.

Maybe my life isn't so perfect after all...

Review ★★★★ stars

I was very excited about this book the first time I saw the blurb.  I will admit to loving "bad boys" being redeemed/tamed by the love and care of a good woman, and I was looking forward to seeing Ryder's ego come back down to Earth. Ryder is definitely a bad boy. He's honest about it, but doesn't think he's hurting anyone with the way he chooses to live his life.  All it takes for him to see things differently is a broken tail bone and a letter from a sick little boy.

I laughed a lot while reading this book.  I also mentally cringed at some scenes, like the masseuse scene.  Yeah...  I liked seeing Ryder reevaluate what he wanted as he was laid up in that bed.  I was a little surprised by how quickly Ryder and Scarlett became intimate.  I also wasn't prepared for how the story ended.  You may not be aware that this is the first part in a three part installment and it ends on a cliffhanger.  I was left wondering, "What the? What just happened?"

Missy Johnson did a wonderful job at introducing us to Ryder, Jake, and Scarlett.  She's gotten a great start with the first volume.  It's funny and hot and will leave you wanting more Ryder and the craziness he brings with him.  I'm really looking forward to the next part and finding out what's going with Scarlett and Jake.
