For everyone whose been waiting for Tex, he's here and his story is a doozy!  Read on to find out more and don't forget to enter the amazing giveaway!

SYNOPSIS:
Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted...my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.
I crave war more than peace, and I'm about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra...that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.

But the only person able to do that...is my best friends sister, Mo Abandanato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.

I'm cursed so I did it.
I'm numb so I held it.
I'm wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare--the five families greatest enemy. It's my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I'm going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I've always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death...yours.

EXCERPT:
Sergio was whispering something in her ear as he poured her a cup of coffee. Holy shit, I was going to break his hand.
He snaked his other arm around her and touched her shoulder. Just kidding I was going to break both his hands and stuff them into his mouth.
Mo smiled at him.
I gripped the table with my left hand, my fingers digging into the wood.
“Easy,” Nixon whispered from next to me. “We don’t want to have to buy a new one.”
“A new Sergio or a new table?” I said through clenched teeth.
“One’s irreplaceable.”
“What?” I looked down. “This is an antique?”
Nixon smirked. “I mean Sergio, you jackass.”
I shrugged and went back to my paper and read, you know if reading meant I stared at the same sentence while trying to eavesdrop on Mo and Sergio’s conversation.
“Family dinner.” Chase announced sitting down next to me. I scooted away towards Nixon and crossed my arms.
Pissed. I had to look pissed.
And ready to kill them.
All of them.

REVIEW:
★★★★★ stars

When I first started reading the Elite series, I was beyond skeptical.  How are people in their teens and twenties going to handle being in the mob or familia?  As I continued to read each book my skepticism completely faded away in part to the characters and Rachel Van Dyken's writing.

I never thought the Tex I first met in Elite and saw in Elect would be the same Tex in Elicit. Granted there were hints in Entice but I never thought I'd get to see this side of him.  I liked him for his humor and irreverence in the earlier books of the series and I wanted him back.  It hurt knowing why I couldn't.  I felt so bad for him and Mo.  Tex's journey and story broke my heart.  I wanted to wrap him up in a bear hug and not let him go.

I was really kept on my toes with this book.  There are so many twists and the book is action packed.  I didn't see any of them coming.  By the time I'd settled down, something else was happening to rile me up.  I loved Mo and Tex together.  I always have, and I always will.  I love him for being there for Mo even if it didn't seem like he was.

I am so impressed with Rachel Van Dyken.  She's managed to make me believe her stories.  I love her characters.  I root for them though their travails and cheer when they find success and happiness.  I'm surprised how much I loved this book.  I'm not really a fan of dark romances but am finding they engage me.  I can't wait for Ember. I'm happy knowing there is more to look forward to!
