From the author of No
Reverse, comes a life-changing journey to
Paris and a chance to find l’amour again.
Eleanor Carrington knows how to
love, and to love deeply. She also knows how it feels to have your heart torn
to pieces. The blue-blooded daughter of a political heavyweight, she has never
wanted for anything…
… Except the love of two very
different men.
She was engaged to her second
lover, Joshua McBride, only to find out he already had a wife and a child.
After that ego-bashing experience, she flees to Paris to stay with her
self-medicated mother. While keeping her mom from popping pills like gummy
bears, Eleanor launches a new, no-strings-attached life plan: sleeping around
and absolutely NO falling in love whatsoever. On her part at least, because her
self-esteem could do with one or two Frenchmen going un peu crazy for her.
What she doesn’t need is for Grand Amour Number One to burst back
into her life. What she doesn’t need is all-American Zachary Murdoch—or a more
mature and sensitive version of him—to schmooze his way into her life
again.
Now a club-owner in Paris, Zach
is intrigued by the troubled woman who was once the sweet girl he had to give
up. Offering a shoulder for her to cry on is what he owes her. Falling for her
is what he has lost the right to.
But Paris is known as the City
of Love for a reason…
Will he be her turn at love?
*** You Turn is a contemporary adult romance and part of the Second
Chances series. However, Lenor’s story can be read as a stand-alone novel.
There is no cliffhanger. ***
Review
★★★★★ stars
I first met Lenor in Marion Croslydon's novel No Reverse. I wasn't sure how to feel about her, but when things didn't end well for her, I hoped she'd get a chance at finding love again and with You Turn, Marion has done just that. Everything I'd wanted for Lenor and more was in this book.
I sort of liked the Lenor I met in No Reverse. There wasn't too much in there about her as an individual, so when I realized I was really going to get to know her, I was very excited. Everything I thought I knew about Lenor was wrong. I had no idea how strong she was and that she'd had another huge betrayal in her past. I wasn't really sure how to feel about Zach, especially since it became apparent he'd broken Lenor's heart once before and done it brutally. However as time went on and Zach and Lenor spent more time together, I began to see what may have happened and how they could make things work with each other this tie around. I thought it was horrible they had the parents they did. Those men and women were never fit to be parents and it seemed so wrong their sins messed with their children. When you read the book you'll find out what a piece of work Louise, Lenor's mother is and her pompous father too, and how Zach's parents worked to mess him up too.
The story was very fast paced and kept me on my toes. I loved how the chapters were set up going between the past and the present, especially in the beginning, to help give us an idea of what had happened between Zach and Lenor and to give us some insight to their personalities. All it took to hook me was the first chapter and I had so many questions that kept getting answered and creating more as I read. I literally read this book in a matter of hours. I devoured it and was left wanting to see more of Zach and Lenor. There were moments when I was happy and then there were moments when I was devastated as truths came forward and realized Lenor and Zach and others were in pain.
There's no way I can do full justice to this novel in words. It is really a story that needs to be read to be experienced. Don't let the beautiful and inspired cover fool you. This novel is more than about sex, it's about love, second chances, family, relationships, and finding yourself and being true to you. It's a fabulous novel and Marion Croslydon has outdone herself with it. I can not wait for her next novel. I'm hoping it'll be Sam's story, but I'll take anything she writes.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for them in any manner.I also pre-ordered a copy of my own.*
