What I Thought:
I find it ironic that I shiver just thinking of snow but will read about it in a heart beat if it features a hot guy. Honestly I didn't start this book with high expectations because I was expecting it to be a typical NA sports romance which focuses more on the bedroom than romance or the sport. I can happily tell you I was glad to be proven wrong. This is one NA novel that focuses on the journey of two people as much as their relationship with each other, which is refreshing.
Ophelia and Z are really two people who make an imperfectly perfect couple. They shouldn't work together but do. I liked how even though the initial chemistry between the two was fast and hot, it didn't consume them. Instead it turned into a slow burn that revealed so much about their pasts. I really wanted to give them both big hugs. Especially Z. It's hard to like yourself or understand that you do deserve good things when those who should protect you and love you fail you.
I loved reading and learning about some of the tricks Z, Cam , Ash, and Lucas did. I've always admired what people can do with snow and a board, even if I wouldn't dare to try it myself. Balance and rhythm aren't always my friend. There are a couple of moments where I was torn between wanting to hug Z and hitting him hard. He's truly a good man and I think he comes to realize it.
When it comes to emotions, this book had them in spades. I laughed aloud, held my breath in shock, and cried. It's hard not to fell into Ophelia and Z's journey to finding each other but also learning to live with their pasts. Just so you know this book ends on a shocker, just not necessarily one that's for Ophelia and Z but that affects them all the same. I immediately scrambled to find out when the next book comes out, which is in April. I think I can survive until then.
Apparently Tracy Wolff has been writing for quite a while. All it took was a novel about a hot snowboarder and girl looking to find solace and peace form their pasts to hook me and make me a fan.
