Her present is detached and dull. And her future? Well, before meeting Theodore Darcy, the famed film director, writer, producer and CEO of Darcy Entertainment, she would have expected more of the same. Love is just a fantasy and she wants no part of it—even if she can’t deny the undeniable attraction between the two of them. So their arrangement is simple: sex with no strings attracted. But as their intimacy becomes more powerful, so do Felicity’s demons. Review
★★★★ 1/2 stars
I always wonder where J.J. McAvoy gets the ideas for her books. Each one is different and stunningly so. I'm always caught off guard by how much I connect with her characters and their emotions. This time the story surprised me in ways that were unexpected but still enjoyable. I really liked what I read but was left wanting more.

This book is hot, really hot. At first I thought it was an erotic romance and I was totally okay with that. Then came this sudden plot twist that really took me aback and completely changed the direction and focus of the story. I wouldn't even know what to categorize the story as after that point. It was still hot and I was still really into it, but the plot dynamic shifted. It was great to see the physical chemistry between Felicity and Theo change into something stronger and more emotional. I loved seeing Felicity and Theo try to gain control over what was happening between them. Those two had very similar, strong personalities and watching them spar and butt heads was a lot of fun.

I wasn't surprised by the intense feelings I had while reading this book. J.J. McAvoy is wonderful at evoking them in her readers. Nor was it surprising how much I connected with and related to Felicity and Theo. I really liked them and wanted them to be happy. There was laughter, there were tears, and there was lots of anger too. My fury was directed towards family, both Felicity's and Theo's, but mostly Felicity's. They were a new level of scum. I loved how Felicity made her own little family for herself of her friends. She didn't need much more. Theo didn't have many friends, but he was close to his family, or so it seemed. I loved seeing Theo be softer with them. It was interesting to see both Theo and Felicity, two determined people, be soft towards the other. Some of the scenes they had with each other made me melt, Theo's especially. I really liked how the issues Theo and Felicity faced gave me food for thought. Would I do the same if I was in either of their shoes?

Then things got tricky. With the shift in the story, instead of one relationship issue, Theo and Felicity were suddenly facing many. It's like they were under attack from all sides. I felt like they were all major, valid issues and weren't developed and handled as much as they should have. The main focus was on Felicity and her past, while the strife in Theo's life wasn't really fully expanded or dealt with. There were lots of hints and suggestions, but nothing concrete was stated. I was really surprised when the book ended because there were so many plot points were left untouched and I wasn't ready for it to end. The story didn't end on a cliffhanger, so I'm hoping it will be followed by another and become one of a series. Not only would I like to read more about Felicity and Theo, but I'd like to know more about Theo's parents and siblings. If you like your stories to be hot, unpredictable, and unforgettable, this book is for you
