Blurb
The life of a session musician is rarely easy. After consecutive tour cancellations and a stack of unpaid bills, Chloe Bennett fears her dream has come to an end. Then everything changes.
Indie rocker Reid Ryder needs a replacement violinist for his tour. For Chloe, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime. For Reid, it’s a checkmark off his list. Already battling addiction, guilt, and his inability to write new music, Reid's hopeful that things are finally falling into place.
But life is never predictable.
When the tour begins, he finds himself drawn to Chloe. She challenges and inspires him. Their onstage chemistry is electric. To the outside world, they’re the perfect match. To those involved, however, it’s not so simple. When Reid’s no longer sure that the future he planned is the one he wants, a choice must be made.
Love...or loyalty.

Excerpt
Lulled into an almost sedated state, she wasn’t prepared for the crushing emotion that saturated the air when Reid began to sing. Song after song, his voice mimicked the lyrics. Soft and sad, rough and tender, hopeful and despairing. It was like nothing she’d ever experienced, and it affected her in ways she didn’t realize were possible.
She wanted to step behind Reid and wrap her arms around his waist. She wanted to press her cheek to his back and hug him as tightly as possible. She wanted to do anything to stop the pain in his voice.
Review
★★★★ 1/2 stars
I love rock-star romances. There's something about a guy who is talented with his hands and can command the attention of thousands, if not millions, that really does it for me. I love my rock stars with a touch of bad boy and vulnerability, but there's nothing more I love than a good guy. I love how Brooklyn & Beale takes the rock star trope and adds a fresh spin. It makes sense since Reid Ryder isn't the typical rock star, his love story wouldn't be typical either.
Since I've started out by talking about Reid, it only makes sense to continue talking about him. I really liked Reid. He's a reformed bad boy having experienced first hand the perils that can come with too much fame. He's kind and caring, especially towards Chloe. I loved the way he was with her and the way he was with his fellow band mates. With Reid, you can tell he knows what's important. He's still dealing with issues from his past, but watching him tackle them lets you know how strong he is.
Chloe is a sweet heart. I loved the way she was willing to put herself out there to chase opportunities of a life time. I loved how she was true to her self and her talents even when she received no support from her family. I also loved her personality. She's friendly, sassy, and has a strong sense of right and wrong. You can tell how excited she is to tour with Reid and the group, as well how much she likes Reid, but she knows it wouldn't be easy. I understood her frustration with being unable to figure out her feelings and then what to do with them once she did.
I really enjoyed reading a book told in third person point view, more than I thought I would. Olivia Evans did a wonderful job at not bogging down the story with a lot of dialogue and unnecessary narrating or directing, which I think really helped the story flow. Chloe and Reid having unbelievable chemistry also helped. I loved the way those two handled the difficult situations they found themselves in. So if you're looking for a romance with passion that'll surprise you with how thoughtful and unique it is, this book is definitely for you.
