Blog Tour: Review, Excerpt, and Giveaway for Once More With Feeling by Megan Crane

I know this book isn't the usual young adult or new adult book I review on here.  I've read all of Megan's chicklit/N.A./women's fiction titles and have them in paperback.  When I saw this book of hers was going on tour, I jumped at the chance to join it.  This book blew my mind.  I've got a book hangover and my chest still hurts when I think about this book.  You'll find out more in my review below.  Oh and there's a gift card giveaway.  Don't forget to comment and enter.

Synopsis: My life was just like any other girl’s until the Maxwell corporate empire ruined my family and stole my future. I’d given up hoping to see justice done, but then the way to right this wrong was dropped in my lap. My job with an event planner can get me into the home of one of Maxwell’s business partners. I can find evidence of what they did to my father. I can make sure they pay.I wasn’t expecting Sebastian.Sebastian has been hired for security, but he is also the son of the man I despise. I should hate Sebastian purely on principle. I shouldn’t care that he’s sweet and funny and sexy as hell. He’ll always be a Maxwell, and that means he’s my enemy.
I can’t help but want him anyway. He seems to want me too, but only for a good time. He’s the son of privilege, and he’ll never be serious about me. He’ll also never betray his family. If he finds out what I’m really doing here, he’ll turn on me in an instant. He’ll keep me from finding justice. It’s just that I keep finding him instead.

One more day before "Mason" by Tijan is here and I got to interview him!

For everyone whose wondering how is Mason coming when he's already a character in three books, allow me to tell you. Tijan has written a novella from Mason's point of view set before Fallen Crest High.  Now I'm not totally sure if it's set right before then or if it's all of his childhood/teenage years, but honestly, I don't care.  All I know is I get Mason uncensored and uncut!  Now if only he was real...and I was ten years younger.  I'd be willing to go to jail for *cough* doing Mason, orange does look good on me, but will just settle for ogling and daydreaming about all the things I'd like to do to him.  Not only will he be here TOMORROW, but I got a chance to sit down and talk to him last week!  Here's the gorgeous cover.

The Romance Festival 2014: Tips From A Book Blogger for Authors and Publishers

I'm super excited to be taking part in the first ever digital romance festival supported by so many amazing publishers, people,  and organizations.  I'm not quite sure who to thank, but you can take a look at the impressive list here.

I've been reading since the age of three and have been a reader for 27 years.  I can't tell you of a time when I wasn't reading.  Other children would get in trouble for talking in class, etc. while I'd be the one not paying attention to the lesson because I was reading a book.  I recently reconnected with someone I went to elementary school with.  Her question to me on a social media site was, "Is this the same Chanpreet who used to read 300 pages a day in the 5th grade?"  It cracked me up and I replied with a resounding, "Yes!".  These days it's not about the page count but about the stories and the journeys I go on with the characters.

While I've been reading for many, many years and have read thousands of books, I've only been blogging for a number of years on various sites before starting this one at the beginning of the year.  I have a few suggestions and observations on how bloggers and authors can have a better relationship.

Double Review: The Bad Boy Billionaire's Wicked Arrangement and The Bad Boy Billionaire's Girl Gone Wild by Maya Rodale

I loved this series by Maya Rodale.  I was really impatient waiting for each installment and I was hoping for a fourth installment when Maya informed me at RT that as of right now, there would only be three.  Since I couldn't get a firm answer from her regarding the future of Jane and Duke, she did give me a maybe regarding future books featuring the two, making me happy.  To see the review for the third installment, check out this post: http://confessionsofayaandnabookaddict.blogspot.com/2014/05/blog-blitz-review-and-giveaway-bad-boy.html

Memorial Day

For those who don't know, Memorial Day is a national holiday in the United States to honor and remember those who have fallen in its defense.  These days Memorial Day is synonymous with the official start of Summer and the beach/BBQs/pool/parties/etc.  Please take a moment out of your day today and reflect on those who have given their lives so we can enjoy our day off at the beach/pool/parties/BBQs.

Thank you is so insignificant but it's the only place I know where to start.

Happy Memorial Day!

Elevator Heat by B.D. Rowe

Synopsis

New Adult Contemporary Romance

Twenty-year-old Maddie has had a crush on Colin, her studly internship supervisor, for three long months. She struggles focusing on her work, and always finds herself gazing at his wavy brown hair, his chiseled cheekbones, his kissable lips. Little does she know, however, that he has feelings for her, too.

The problem is no matter how much time they spend together in the office, neither one can ever make the first move.

That is, until they both step into the old, rickety elevator late one Friday night.

And things start to get a little steamy...

**Mature Situations and Sexual Content - Recommended for Ages 17+**

My Review
 ★ ★ ☆☆☆

Elevator Heat was not what I was expecting.

I couldn't really get into it. The only reason why I finished this book, is because I actually wanted to know what was going to happen to the characters. While I didn't like it very much, it did keep my attention.

I didn't like how the book went back and forth through the two main characters point of view. They just kept repeating everything, but from each characters point of view. It would have been much better if it was just from one point of view, or if each point of view explained something different.

I think the title of this book is very misleading. The book is called Elevator Heat, but they didn't do anything until the end of the book. The entire time they were stuck in the elevator, they only talked. Yes, every book has to start somewhere, but this book just got worse and worse for me.

I thought it wasn't very realistic. The two characters were in love with each other, but they barely said ten words to each other. Okay maybe it was love at first sight, but there was nothing in the book that led to that.

Over all I really couldn't get into this book. The title and the description is what hooked me, but the book itself did not follow through.

Date published: May 12th, 2014
Synopsis: Twenty year old, Allison Slater has been in love with her brother’s bandmate, Rhys McGowan, since she was fifteen years old. But to him, she’ll always be Jake’s little sister and off limits. Now a college sophomore and licking her wounds from a bad breakup, she sets her sights on making Rhys see her as someone he could date…maybe even love. Her opportunity comes when Rhys visits his parents in Savannah where she is attending college. But the night she’s dreamed of turns to heart-break, and she realizes she’ll never be the one for Rhys.

For Rhys McGowan, his nightmare began when he woke up, naked and hung-over, next to his bandmate’s little sister. Unable to remember a thing from the previous night, he only makes matters worse by lying to Allison about not being interested in her. The truth is he’s spent the last year to ignore his body’s reaction whenever Allison is around. His resolve is tested when Allison comes on tour with Runaway Train, as both Jake and Abby’s nanny and to fulfill her fashion design internship. The more time he spends with her in the close quarters of the bus, the harder it is for him to resist.

Will Rhys realize that having a relationship with Allison is worth fighting for even if it means that he has to fight his best friend for a chance?

I absolutely love books with the friends to lovers theme.  I adore the cover of this book and think I'll enjoy the book just as much.

Chosen By You Book Club is having a giveaway to celebrate their blogolversary!

The wonderful bloggers on Chosen By You Book Club are giving away a book of your choice up to $20 or a $20 gift card from Amazon.  Get your wishlists ready! :)

The one thing I love about this blog is how they feature Wattpad authors and stories along with traditionally and indie published authors.  They bring a voice to those who don't have anyone to do it for them.

Check out this giveaway and good luck!
